The first quarter of 2007 has just passed; it is with lots of thanksgiving and praise to our Lord Jesus for His wonderful works in our lives. The province has been blessed to start off the year with Noah and Portia serving as Higher Institutions staff. They bring with them love, humility and lots of experience into the organisation and the students have them for the benefit of their branches.

A brief summary of events in the branches: 

UWC had their orientation where they introduced SCO to new students and continuing students. A Friday SCO night showcased brilliant talent in dancing and drama. The branch servants (committee) were introduced, students were welcomed and Motseki (National Administrator) presented an SCO slideshow outlining who SCO is and its beliefs, aims and objectives. New members were signed up and this was followed by the regular branch program. Their main meetings are on Friday and Sunday.

CPUT Cape Town also kicked off the year with a welcoming to new and continuing students. They topped it off with a Fresher’s camp in Simons town on the 02-04 February 2007. 70 Students, Noah, Portia, Motseki, Ndzuki not forgetting Muke and the team were part of the camp.

CPUT Belliville campus orientation and Opening Camp was held on the 02-04 March 2007 at the Rotary Camp in Strandfontein. 30 Students and 2 SCO staff were part of the weekend full of life changing experiences. 

SCO members got together for a Provincial Prayer Day meeting at Joe Slovo High School in Khayelitsha on the 24^th of February. It was graced by learners, their devoted teachers, students from UWC, CPUT and UCT, Associates and SCO staff. This meeting was driven by Hebrews 4:16 & Matthew 18:19. Various issues ranging from national to local needs and individual issues were taken to the Lord in prayer. It was encouraging to witness the potent and unity that lies in the SCO.
