Meet Noah & Portia Tenai

The Tenais just joined the SCO as of January 2007.

 Noah & Portia got married in 2001. Prior to their marriage, Portia was a staff worker at the Student YMCA, while Noah was an assistant Pastor to the late Rev. Philip Mokson at Masiphumelele Baptist Church and a student at the Bible Institute of SA (BISA). 

 Noah, a South African citizen of Kenyan origin, served as a pastor and a chaplain in Kenya with the Africa Inland Church, after graduation from Kapsabet Bible College in 1997. He was a student at BISA from 2000 to 2002. He is a holder of Licentiate of theology from BISA, Bachelors of Arts (Theology) and Bachelors of Theology (Honours), both from the then Potchefstroom University. He also holds a Master of Theology – MTh (Systematic theology & Ethics) from the University of Stellenbosch, where he is also currently doing Doctoral studies – DTh.

 Portia has her roots in the Limpopo (RSA). She has lived in Cape Town since 1994. She is an alumni of the then Peninsula Teknikon (now CPUT), where she obtained a diploma in Public Management and Administration. It was during her time as a student that she helped with the growth and strengthening of the Student YMCA at Pentech. Portia also did study at BISA, where she met Noah. She holds a Bachelors of Technology in Public management from UNISA and is currently Studying towards a Masters Degree in Public Administration at the University of Stellenbosch.  

 Prior joining the SCO, Portia was a staff worker at the Student YMCA Pentech for 9 years. Noah too, was a staff worker at the Student YMCA Pentech for 5 years.

 The duo, have an immense zeal for students. Their aspiration is to reach students with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ …one student at a time.
